Textured Box using Basic Grey

http://basicgreychallenges.blogspot.com/2009/03/challenge-27-texture.html
I used Lilykate papers for this project. I have always loved this range as it goes with so many themes.
Textured means a lot to me-Cuttlebug, flowers, layers. This is what I did on the box that will hold the Cards i receive from friends that have been hand made. I have bugged some card and glued it on the sides. The flower on the top has a layered and inked Lilykate flower that has a flower brad. The Ric Rac also adds texture as does the brads and the layered word that says cards. Then there are some little flowers glued onto the word that adds more texture. The flowers have also been Kindy Glitzed.

Sketch for Pink Elephant Challenge-Kaiserstamps

Here is the card I did for the Pink Elephant Challenge. For the Scallop on the bottom I used the Nestabilities and cut a small section from the circle.I used Kaisercraft Stamps for the flourish and found a heap of these round tiles that were so popular years ago. I think i will use them up on my cards. The flowers have been Kindy Glitzed to tie in with the glitter patterned paper.

CuttlebugSpot Challenge Card

This is the card that depicts Spring. Even though we do not have Spring in Australia at the moment but am going into Autumn. I did this for the Cuttlebugspot Challenge.
This card has been bugged and embellished with flowers. The orange flower is from SALT and has a concho in the centre. The sentiment is part of a Kaiser stamp. The bugged surface has been inked.

Cooper turns 3

Cooper had his 3rd birthday during the past week. He had a great birthday. He had a chocolate cake at pre-school and the kids sang him happy birthday and he blew the candles out-as told to me by Cooper. He spent his birthday with his Father and their family. Brian and i gave him this seat that he liked very much and kept on lying and sitting in it. We also gave him socks, pjs and shoes.
He kept on playing hard to get with the photos and hence the stiff as a board lying down photo. I love the top photo of him trying to open his present. I love this look he gets. His mother used to give the same look and we dubbed it "the Mandy Look"-the wonders of genetics.

Watercoloured Pencils

I bugged the white card and then roughly coloured the candles in with water coloured pencils. I then went over the coloured candles with a wet paintbrush and then let dry. When it was dry I Kindy Glitzed the flames and the inked, bugged sentiments. A very easy card.
Notice the top part of the card?I let the candle sheet overlap the top to add interest.

3D Flower Technique

3D Flower Tag

This flower has been folded and glued the opposite side to the previous card and hence the patterned paper has been seen. It is also a bigger flower to begin with. The base, which is a gift tag has been cut from Bazzill using a Nestabilities scalloped oval.
I will post the instructions for the flower later today.

A side view of the 3D flower

This view shows the 3 D effect of the card. Depending on what side of the patterned paper you do depends on the effect you get. I will share the reverse version of this flower tomorrow.

Punched Cuttlebug Card

This flower was punched using the Sizzix machine 3 times and cut and glued and put together in a way that needs to be shown step by step and I will do that this weekend. After I punched it out I put it through the bug and inked it. Then I cut and glued and put it together. I love this 3D card. I cannot remember who showed me this technique but it was with a different flower and I thought it might work with different flowers and it does.
The sentiments is Kaisercraft Stamps. The ink I used is Versa Color Cubes-Pinecone.

Shaped Tag and Bugged

I have decided to make some tags that are different shapes to give when I give a small gift. I will write on the back any message. They are fun and quick to make.
I used the Fiskars Metal Ruler to draw then hand cut the top and bottom. The patterned paper is by Quick Quotes and the cardstock is an unknown supplier. Can you see the bugged areas? The top bugged area has been inked with Versa Color Cubes.

Sketch and Kaisercraft stamps

Here is my card based on the Sketch Challenge at Cuttlebugspot Challenges. The patterned paper is Basic Grey and the sentiment is Kaisercraft Stamps. This was a fun one to do. I like the bugged background. The cardstock that has been embossed is leathergrain and it bugs well.

Basic Grey Rounded Card

I love Basic Grey Patterned Paper and when I found this challenge site knew I would be joining in. Here is a simple card i made using rounded corners cut with my Fiskars Fancy edged scissors. I had to use my bug on the patterned paper and the flower is a bought one.
I used Basic Grey white velvet ribbon for the bow. The stamped letters are Kindy Glitzed.

Kaisercraft Stamp for Edible Challenge

Here is the edible stamped image I have done for Papertake Weekly Challenge. I love Cupcakes both for eating and stamping and crafting. So what better way to use my Kaisercraft Stamps, for this challenge.
I have used my heart folder to bug the pink layer that has been inked in maroon. I have used some crinkle crepe paper for the frills on the top and bottom of the card.
The sentiment is also a Kaisercraft stamp.

Kaisercraft stamped Tag

I have decided to make some tags that can be put on gifts if you don't want to give a card. They can be just as creative and can use up a lot of those scraps that you just cannot throw out. Fibres are a nice addition to the tag. We all have heaps of fibres.
Here I used Kaisercraft stamps on the background and I also stamped some Kaiser flowers on some cardstock and cut them out and glued them in place. Easy as!!!!!

CuttlebugChallenge old stash Card

http://cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/2009/03/rendezvous-monday-cuttlebug-challenge.html

Here is a card I made with a paint chip. I had these chips to see what colour I wanted to paint our house and instead of throwing them out decided to use them on cards. RECYCLE.The flowers were punched some time ago-I found them in a plastic bag buried. The ribbon was from a present I received for going to a wedding and the Kaisercraft pearls were bought for a layout and the leftovers used for cards. The background cardstock was given to me by a friend way back in 2002 when she came to Australia for a visit.

Lina having fun

We have so much fun at our crops. The friendship is wonderful. Lina is so much like me-likes to

have fun. Laughter is the best medicine and to be able to make others laugh is wondeful gift. Doesn't she look great modelling her latest buy-3 rings for her tag swap folder. Thanks Lina for making me laugh.
For more photos of the weekend check out Cropworks blog.

Button Card with Kaisercraft Stamp

http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/2009/03/pink-elephant-challenge-6.html
Here is my card hot off the working bench for The Pink Elephant Challenge-hot yes because you can still see the Gel Medium that has glued the bow in place and it hasn't dried. I forgot all about that, I just wanted to get it done and posted. LOL. Talk about keen.
I have used the Cuttlebug Button Border folder along with a bought border that has a button. I would never use it in my scrap pages but it is a good place to use it , in your cards. All these left over or outdated scrapbooking products go well in cards.
I love Kaisercraft products, especially their stamps. They are so versatile.

My Weekend Part 2

ON Sunday Brian, Cooper and I took our new Jeep on a trip with some friends. We went to Wollemi National Park and saw some great Aussie Bushland. We had to take Cooper and he had a wonderful time. These shots show an area around Wheeny Creek. We went swimming in the creek-well more like paddling. The kids swam. Our new Jeep shown crossing the creek went well.
I was proud of myself, I actually looked at a snake the group next to us caught in the tree near where we were all sitting. I am getting braver. They offered for me to pat it but I declined. They took it up river and let it go in the bush away from people.

My weekend

I had a great weekend with friends and family.
Friday night and Saturday I was with friends scrapbooking at the monthly crop I run. I always have a great time there as the ladies are so nice and sharing and caring. Here are a few photos of some of us on Saturday. This is held in the Sydney area.

Brown and Green Cupcake Challenge Kaisercraft Stamp Card

Here is the Brown and Green Cupcake Challenge Card I made. The card is made out of 3 different shades of Bazzill cardstock and it has been inked with brown and the Kaisercraft stamps are also inked in brown. The green bling is also Kaisercraft. The green organza ribbon adds a little more to the card.

Cuttlebug, Fiskars and Bows.

Here is a card I made recently. I am playing with different shapes at the moment as I am sick of doing rectangular or square cards. I used the Fiskars Metal rulers to draw up the top and bottom. I could have left the card with the jagged edges but I chose in this case to mount it on a RECTANGULAR card. LOL.
I have made the bow using a very easy technique. Cut a rectangular piece from wired ribbon. Snip the ends at an angle.Twist it a few times in the middle and attach to your card in any way that suits. ie glue, tied, brads etc.

Grandparent's Day

Jess loved having us there. Her little eyes lit up and her smile was from ear to ear. How precious are these memories.

Grandparent's day at School

Here is a photo of my precious Jess and I at her school for Grandparent's Day. I saw her in the class and she showed us all her school books and art work. She was doing Science when I arrived. Right up my alley. Gave me a good idea for my retirement. Go to the local primary schools and teach Science to the little kids instead of the big ones as the primary school teachers don't have the knowledge we Secondary ones have of Science. Also offer to do craft with them. We will see.
We had lunch with her and then they put on a concert by singing. Jess is in the Choir. She doesn't get her voice from me. LOL. I am tone death. My talents lie elsewhere.
Jess's other grandparents were there also and it was nice catching up with them .

Serendipity Cuttlebugspot Challenge

What a great idea. I used to do Serendipities years ago. Who would have thought to bug them. I haven't actually bugged mine but have bugged the sentiment on Coredinations cardstock and sanded it. I have also bugged the background.I just love this concept and will be doing more of these and actually bugging them. Scraps here I come.

Bugged Spring Cupcake Craft Challenge

This is the spring challenge I am in for Cupcake Craft Challenge. I have used a bugged background. Under the organza ribbon is another bugged strip. A few flowers popped up and a couple of ribbons make it spring like. I have used a pink Souffle Pen to trace inside the veins of the flowers. Souffle pens will write on metallic cardstock like this grey one.The butterfly is from a $2 shop.
