Cuttlebug Self Embossing Technique

1.Black SALT cardstock and Brialliance Pearlescent Purple Ink-any metallic ink or paint looks great on a dark cardstock. 2.SALT Black cardstock embossed with no added colour medium.

3.Wendy Irving Patterned paper from her Christmas range, Vintage Brown Versafine ink.The stars are embossed upwards.

4.The same products as before but the stars are reversed, indented.

5. Same as above but Basic Grey Dasher paper and Olympia Green Versafine Ink.

6. Same patterned paper as previous but Kaisercraft Olive paint dry brushed over the entire piece.

7.This is the embossing plate I made from a Weet Bix carton and chipboard stars.I glued the pre-bought SALT chipboard stars onto the cardboard with Gel Medium. This is the size of the A plate.
This technique has been inspired by Mel from Mel Stampz. You have to visit her blog and check out the awesome embossing folders she has made.
Depending on which way you want the embossing depends on which way you face the patterned paper.
Sandwhich
Plate A, PlateB, Hand made embossing plate,paper/cardstock, silicone mat, Plate B.
When the patterned paper is facing upwards the embossing is raised on the patterned part of the paper.
When the patterned paper is facing downwards the embossing is indented on the patterned part of the paper.
HINTS-other mediums
1.Dabbers
2.Embossing Ink and powders
3.Metallic Cardstock
4.Metallic card or patterned paper with a white back and then sanded
5.Coredinations Cardstock
6.You are limited by your imagination.

Recycled Project

This container was bought to add lollies for a birthday party. The lid is broken so I cut it off and added all the bits. I also cut the handles off.

Bugged Plastic Tablecloth

I found this heavily designed plastic in a shop that you buy by the metre. I bugged it and you get a light design that is more apparent when inked etc.
The sandwich I used was: A plate, B plate, cardstock, plastic material, silicon mat, B plate.
I made a card out of the yellow and brown and used a Glaze Pen to outline one of the embossed flowers. It looks more pronounced in real life.
The other is a creation in the making. I outlined the heavier card in waterwash pencil and spritzed it and then added some Chryatallina Kindy Glitz.I haven't decided what to do with it yet.

More of Mel and Me

I chose to leave the background paper on this one otherwise I would have lost most of Mel. I can see Chloe in Melanie and I can see Melanie in me.
Notice my long thick hair-Melanie has long thick hair also.
I will share more of both of us when I have done more.

Rose-Anne and Melanie

I have spent a lot of today getting family photos off floppy discs and trying to salvage some early photos of Melanie when she was a baby.I unfortunately left them in one of those horrid albums for too long before I knew better in 2000. Then from my early scrapbooking days cut and did awful things to the photos like cutting them into stars etc. So I got my digital camera out and took photos of many of them-still a long way to go. I have then cropped them and have many of them back to normal.

Card made from 2 Spellbinders

Here is my orange and pink theme again. I have used 2 different Spellbinders folders to make this card. I had so much fun making it.
