Spring has sprung

Fungi ( not a flower)
I love spring when all the flowers bloom. These photos were taken in Melanie's yard
in November after all her flowers had bloomed. She loves Gerberas and has lots of different colours and long and short stem ones.

Stars and Swirls Christmas card

A friend of mine showed me how to make this card. Thank you Vesky for getting my mojo back. I have been in an uncreative mood of late. I think I was burnt out in all areas of my life.
I used my Cuttlebug and the Sizzix texture plate called Stars and swirls. The sentiment is also from a Sizzix texture plate that I cut up to get the sentiment.
I drew the stars free hand.
The border is a scallop punch by Fiskars

Best Blog Friends Forever Award

My friend Libby awarded this special blog to me. Thank you Libby for this and for all that you do for me. I appreciate you very much. I first met Libby at a crop run by another lady. We soon became friends with so much in common. However, she is neat with her craft stash and I am untidy. I wish I could be more like Libby and be more organised with my craft things then I might be able to find them when I need them.

Slices at camp

I have been making these 2 slices since the 1970s. The chocolate one is a Chocolate Fudge and the other one is a Coconut Slice. We had these 2 on the Friday night at camp. I used my cake stand I got for my birthday from Mel and the girls a few years ago.

Bra and Pants Name Tag

This name tag was sitting on my desk at camp. The frill was made from a strip of paper that I pleated roughly to give a gathered appearance.

Calico Flower

I cut out 3 circles freehand from Calico.
I then rubbed Gel Medium all over the front and back of each circle.
The circles were allowed to dry.
I then scrunched up the 3 circles and laid them down on top of each other.
The 3 circles were then bradded.
I then sprayed Adirondack Color Wash over the top. This allowed the  original colour to be seen in some areas. The colour intensity changed on certain parts of the Gel Medium.

Paper Flowers

These paper flowers have been made using Treehouse Memories double sided patterned paper.
By using the double sided patterned paper you can layer the flower petals and they tone in.
I have used 5 different sized petals for this flower. I have put a brad in the centre and used chrystallina Kindy Glitz around all the petals. Each petal has been shaped a little.

Paper Flowers

This paper flower was made from double sided patterned paper called Treehouse Memories.
This paper is what gave me the inspiration to make these flowers. I used Basic Grey, Offbeat, Laid Back.

I was looking at the Laid Back piece of patterned paper when the inspiration to make a paper flower out of it came into mind.
I cut around the teardrop shape and these formed the petals.
I pinched them at the base to give a puffy appearance and then glued them in place.
The top petals were inspired by the edge teardrops on the paper.
The middle of the flower can have anything from a button to a brad in the centre.
