I made these Cake Pops for my Year 12, 2012 last year for a Christmas treat. They are fun to make but you need a spare few hours to play.

The Big Cupcake.
I bought myself the cupcake silicone mould and made this chocolate cupcake. So cool to make. I can see myself making it in various colours with various embellishments. Chloe helped me make it until she fell off the stool and cried and then didn't want to help anymore. I did warn her not to tilt on the stool. The Jess helped me put the white chocolate calls in each of the piped chocolate flowers i did for the icing. She soon got sick of it. At least they helped.

Sizzix and Scraps

This flower has been made the same way as the previous one. However, the circle punch used is different and I used more layers.
The Sizzix texture plate is called Poinsettia.
I haven't been very creative of late due to my busy work load and life. I hope to get back into it again soon. I miss creating but sometimes it has to take the back burners.

I had fun making this card. The flowers are from an old Christmas range of papers from Scrapbooking Australia. The cardstock is from SALT and the cream Sizzix embossed cardstock has been inked with brown versa ink. I also used the same ink to do the sentiment. I used a border punch for the sentiment mat.
FLOWERS
1. punch 4 circles for each flower.
2. Layer the circles and machine stitch the petals in place.
3. Adhere with Gel Medium to the cardstock and fluff up each layer to give a 3D appearance.
4. Cut thin strips for the stems and triangles for the leaves.

The Sea Princess is in Circular Quay Sydney. It is a massive ship. There were heaps of tourists in Sydney, no doubt many from the ship. Brian and I just spent two and a half days in Sydney and had a great time.

The mug on the left I picked up last week for 50c on special. Love it. The mug on the right was given to me by my lovely Year 12 student 2010 Maxine. Note the remote which is out of reach from my grandson. It changes positions periodically so he cannot get to it.

I bought these Santa Tea Lights last week. They look great at night with the candles burning.

My wall shelf that Brian's Father made me for my 40th birthday that houses my mugs. Note the Santa Mugs on the top shelf. The middle one was given to me by Denise, my lovely Year 11 student in 2009. The one on the right was a secret Santa present from one of my crops and the one on the left I bought last year. The one on the far left was given to me by my good friend Tina. Then Maxine added another Christmas mug to my collection and it is found on the shelf under the top one on the right of the steel pot.

Once again I used the tea bag box as a template. I covered the 4 sides with Christmas paper and punched a border (Martha Stewart punch) with a contrasting paper. I stamped 2 of Stampin Ups bauble range and punched them out. The Christmas trees have been Cuttlebugged and inked and cut out and foam tape was put behind them to give a raised appearance. All the edges have been inked. Another box to put a small present in or just put on the Christmas table with nuts in them.

Hand made Poinsettia.

I traced a tea bag box and added height and a few flaps and made this box. I added Kindy Glitz to the Kaisercraft stamped tree. I will show you how to make the poinsettia another day. I got the template for it from pulling apart a bought one in fabric and tracing the layers and reducing it on the photocopier.
You can put chocolate, biscuits or lollies in some cellophane and pop them in the box to make a gift look nice.

Give Cooper my Digital SLR Camera and nothing is safe. For a 5 year old he is a mean photographer. He takes photos of everything. He also quite good with very few blurred photos. I think Santa might be bringing him his own digital camera for Christmas. i will have to get his blog on photography working for him in the school holidays.

This is one design of bags that Cropworks produces. It comes as a flat pack and you have to assemble and decorate it. I have used Kaisercraft paper, SALT flower, Basic Grey ribbon and the verse is from an old range of Stampin Up Christmas stamps I bought many years ago.
These bags make a nice present with some chocolates or lollies or an expensive piece of jewelry in it.

Marshmallow Pops

I made these Marshmallow Pops for Chloe's 4th Birthday party. Very easy to make and very yummy.
I melted white chocolate in a double pot (water bath) and dipped the stick in and then into the marshmallow. I then refrigerated them. I then dipped the marshmallows into the chocolate and then the sprinkles and then refrigerated them again. They were very popular.

This envelope has been made from a piece of A4 cardstock. The width is a little smaller than the previous one. The middle bauble has been cut out the second time and popped up. The paper is Kaisercraft Christmas paper and the cardstock is from SALT.

My daughter received an envelope containing concert tickets and I thought that I could use the design in my craft. So I copied the template from the packet and made this envelope. You can put a gift certificate in the pouch or money or a card. So versatile. I used Kaisercraft patterned paper for this and a Martha Stewart punch. I also have a tag embossing folder that I bought from Cropworks and it goes well with cards as well as tags for Christmas presents.

Crinkle Flowers.

I have made these flowers from Japanese papers. I used to make them out of fabric and thought they might look Ok in paper. They worked.

Method.
1. Draw a freehand circle on white cardstock.
2. Cut out a larger circle than the drawn one in the Japanese paper.
3. Glue circumference to circumference making a few pleats in the larger circle as you glue.
4. There will be a big hump in the centre, press it down to make the folds in the centre.
5. Cut the 2 layers out as a circle and fold back the cardstock here and there to make the petals.
6. Decorate the flowers with Kindy Glitz etc.

The insert for the mini-album has been made using 1 sheet of cardstock. I made it the same way as i made the tri-shutter card but used different measurements. The covers I have covered the chipboard with patterned paper. It took me about 2 hours to make from scratch. in front of the TV. It is a fun album to make and a little different. I made up the method myself. Don't know if anybody else out there in mini album world has made one like this.

Cooper learned a very good lesson here. The bigger the base the higher the tower can go.

It kept on falling over and he was getting very frustrated with the blocks. He is very happy with his construction work. This tower stayed up for a few days.

Cut a circle from cardstock and crinkle it ( can leave plain if you want).
Cut a strip of patterned paper and I have edged it with a punch. Then pleat it and glue the pleated strip to the back of the circle.

Cut a circle from patterned paper and then glue a series of triangles around the circle.

Cut a pattern from a piece of patterned paper and ink the edges. The shape was originally sold as a chipboard flower.

We went away the last long weekend to Abercrombie National Park. It is a lovely place and we had a great time both day and night. You can see our tent on the river and me near an old deserted hut. The roads were all dirt and some very steep. All in all we had a great time.

I came across these Twisted Easel Cards on the net and decided to make one. I didn't have any instructions but worked it out myself. I loved making the Easel Cards and this one gives a "twist" to the concept.
I have used Treehouse Memory Papers, SALT cardstock and yes the Cuttlebug to cut the metallic white flowers. I also used a punch and 5 scalloped circles to make the fluffy white flower. The ribbon is Bazzill Basic .

Once again I have been playing with Tim Holtz's die and have used tweezers to twist the petals to give them dimension. The pink and brown flower is teamed with a Basic Grey brad.

This is the Tattered Florals Die with out the back row of petals. I Kindy Glitzed the edges and squeezed the petals to give them shape. The butterflies are a die from Stampin Up and both were done using the Cuttlebug.

I love the Cuddlebug folders and the Stappin Up Folder which is the border and the Butterflies. I cut out the flower pieces and then ran them through the Cuttlebug with an embossing from. I then inked them and assembled the flower like I did the other ones except I squeezed the petals instead of making them stand out. Some Kindy Glitz makes it shimmer.

This flower has been made with cardstock that has been sprayed with Glimmer Mist first before cutting out. I have teamed the flower with SALT metallic cardstock and ordinary cardstock, Stampin Up butterfly cut from the Cuttlebug and Kaisercraft wooden stamps and Versa Color ink.

This layout was done as a class for a crop I run once a month. I wanted to use different texture cardstocks to make the eggs of various sizes. I still think Basic Grey makes the best Alphabet stickers and you get so many of them. The patterned paper is Treehouse Memories which I don''t think is around anymore but Cropworks has heaps of it.

The flower has been cut using the Sizzix machine and then I made a ribbon rose and sewed it on the top.

Another Sizzix cut flower. The centre has a circle of fabric and the brown centre os made from a strip of lace that has been knotted then sewn in the centre of the circle.

This flower has 3 layers. The flower was cut from fabric using a Sizzix die and machine. The next layer is a gathered fabric strip. Then the top layer is a small strip of fabric knotted and sewn on top to secure all 3 layers.

This flower has 2 layers. The first layer is a flower cut from a Sizzix die and machine. The top layer is a circle of fabric sewn by doing a running stitch around the edge and gathering up. It is then sewn onto the flower base.

This fabric flower has been made using a Sizzix die and machine. Then the rest is done by hand.
The centre part is a long strip of fabric that has been rouched and then sewed in place. The button has also been sewn.

Brian, Cooper and i just spent a week camping at Billy Grace Reserve at Wee Jasper on the Goodradigbee River. We were with Brian's family and we all had a great time. This was Cooper's first real big holiday camping and he had a ball.

Lace Flowers

These flowers have been made from lace fabric. The one with the Kiasercraft Pearl Brad is gathered at the top by running a running stitch along the edge and pulling the thread tight and knotting it to secure.
The second one is also made from a strip of lace but has been stitched down the centre with running stitch and the stitching has been gathered and knotted. This forms a ball shape when gathered tightly.

Here are 2 different shaped Pipe-cleaner Flowers. They have been made from 1 length of pipe-cleaners.
The centres are either Basic Grey brads or Kaisercraft gems.

This card was done using Bazzill embossed cardstock. The white eggs were cut out from the cardstock and inked. Where the gloss area is the ink will rub off and where the Bazzill Cardstock is the ink will stay. So I inked the white Bazzill Embossed egg cardstock to match in with the mauve Bazzill embossed cardstock. Some Kindy Glitz and a sentiment types out from the computer and you have a card.

These flowers have been made using a double layer of lace. The brown is a strip of lace fabric cut and the cream is a bought pre-made lace. I just ran a running stitch along the edge and gathered it up and then sewed a fancy button in the middle.

Cooper coloured the eggs and cut them out and stuck all the stickers on his hat for the parade. I missed it because I had to work. I made the gold hat.

Selvedged Flowers

I love using the selvedge to make flowers because it has character. This selvedge is from a piece of brown pan velvet. I will use the velvet to make other flowers but I cut off the selvedge to use for this flower. Once the selvedge has been cut off I run a running stitch down the edge that will not be seen. I pull it tight and fasten it off.
I have used a Kaisercraft pearl brad in the centre of this flower and I can attach it to cardstock.

Here is the link on this blog to the flowers I made in Calico doing the same method. I didn't use Glimmer Mist but Tim Holtz Colour Wash. Calico Flower
Experiment and see what you come up with. Different fabrics and different stains with give different results.

I made these flowers using lace, Gel Medium, Glimmer Mist, Kaisercraft pearl brads and SALT pearl brads.
Method.
1. Free hand cut different sizes of lace.
2. Rub Gel Medium all over the front and back of the lace.
3. Scrunch up very tightly and leave to semi dry.
4. Pull the circle apart but try and leave scrunches in them.
5. Assemble as many layers as you wish.
6. Spray with Glimmer Mist.
7. When the Mist is dry attach a brad or any other centre you desire.

Easter Card

This 3D Easter Card was made with some help from the computer. I printed the Happy Easter from the computer because I didn't have a stamp with the sentiments. The eggs have come from Google Images. I typed in Easter Eggs. Who needs stamps when you can get images from the net? We all do. LOL.

Template of the top piece. I have not shown any measurements because you can make up your own depending on the size you want. The cut out insert can be any shape depending on the occasion. This one I used an Easter Egg shape to cut out. I have done others with square, rectangles, circles. There is nothing stopping you from using a heart or Christmas tree or even flower as the shape. This has made me want to create some more.
To send it or the give it in an envelope you ask? Make a 3D envelope. I will do a tutorial on that.

I have used Kaisercraft paints for this one. Kaisercraft paints are more runny and this gives a great texture for this method.

These ones have been done with Jo Sonja paint. I have had it for a while and they have done rather thick. Hence, the crackles do not crack as much as the more runny paints. I still like the effects and they are different.
Keep looking for ideas i have done using these backgrounds. I haven't had a lot of time of late and have not been able to play as much as I like.

This has been done the same way as the previous method and with the same types of paints. However, when I put the PVA glue and the yellow over the dry black I did it in a circular brush stroke pattern. Hence the different look.

Rainbow

This is the rainbow over my suburb on Friday night. The dark clouds accumulated and a few drops of rain fell and then came this rainbow. What a spectacular sight.

The final background to play with.

Paint the cardstock in a colour of your choice. Allow to dry.

Put a coat of PVA glue over the dry red paint.

Quickly add another colour while the PVA glue is wet.

Work the top colour all over and some mixing with the PVA will also occur. Allow to dry or watch and wait for the cracks and patterns to appear. it might take a while but it will be rather exciting.

The products used.

The cracks that appear will also depend upon the type of paint used. This is a child's poster paint (my grandson's)and is rather runny. It is water based.
I have also used other thicknesses of paint that I will share with you as time goes along.

Freehanding on Layouts

Layout for Lesson Check out Cropworks for more photos of this layout. I love these Water Distressed Flowers. I also like playing with paper. I made the vines and leaves myself and drew them freehand, then cut them out and inked them. I also drew all hearts on this page by freehand. I like freehand accents as it is part of your creation. I draw the hearts on the back of the patterned paper and cardstock and cut them out. I trim up any line I am not happy with. I overlap the hearts on the page so parts are cut off so it looks like they are not just plonked on the page.

Sew-easy Tool and Stamped Flowers

I used the scalloped holes for this layout and put some Kaisercraft pearls on the scallops.
Notice the pleated patterned Chatterbox paper.

The leaves have been stamped and inked around the edges. The flowers have also been stamped with a Kaisercradt pearl in the centre. Notice the flowers and leaves have been rolled a little to give dimension. The fabric flower has been made from 5 circles, one for the base and the other 4 have been folded into quarters and all have been sewn into place. The brad is a SALT brad.

This stamped flower has been layered and the petals have been turned up a little along the edges.
