Purple night

This camp was held at Wiseman's Ferry in the weekend that just past. Saturday night was purple night and Libby and Glenda went to so much trouble getting all these purple things. They won. Maree has a mask on and looks great. Melanie has her lovely smile and the 3 purple girls Libby, Glenda and I had a ball. The camp was a great success.

My School Week

I have had a great week at school. Tuesday we played with Dry Ice with yr 7 and Thursday we made Silly Putty. I love doing fun things with yr 7 as they are such great kids.

Then it was time to give my beloved yr 12 a Farewell party. I made the booklets that I shared earlier and they loved them plus the test tube awards. We had a nice lesson of mixed emotions. I will miss these guys so much.

Damask Sizzix Texture Plate

I made this wedding card for a fellow teacher who is getting married in the school holidays.

PRODUCTS USED
SALT cardstock
Sizzix Damask Texture Plate
Cuttlebug
Tattered Straw Distress Ink
Kaisercraft wooden sentiment stamp
Other stamp unknown source
Ribbons unknown sources.
I bugged the cardstock while it was slightly damp and when it was dry ran the ink pad over it.
I like this design for a wedding card. I made the card from A4 cardstock folded in half because there are 9 staff members to sign it and write a message.

Dust Storm

Look at Amanda's car that was freshly cleaned in the weekend. Red dust all over it. Also out the back look at our air conditioning unit.

There is red dust everywhere, even the bins.

This Morning

What an amazing morning. I woke up to a red haze outside and very little visibility. There was red dust everywhere.

Yesterday on the way home from school I heard there was a big dust storm coming from the west. I have never seen so much dust. Every car that has gone by today has red dust all over it. it didn't help that it rained last night. It was all on the news on the radio this morning.

My Present to my Biology Class

I have been working on these for days and they have taken so long to do but that doesn't matter because my beautiful class deserves my time and effort. I have more photos and a special message inside. On the back are all the funny things we said and did and another poem of encouragement. I have made 21 of them.

I am going to give them a party on Thursday and these special cards. i have also done Test Tube Awards for some of the funny and serious things they have done. I will miss these guys.
This is why I have not had time to create cards this past few weeks.

Donna A -cardsrus

Look at the lovely card Donna A sent me for the swap I am in. I love butterflies and this butterfly is not completely attached but has a 3 D appearance. I love the colours Donna has used. Thank you Donna for the lovely card you sent me.

Contemporary Bloom Sizzix Texture Plate Card.

This would have to be one of my favourite Sizzix Texture Plate designs. However, I am not all that happy with the card. Everything went wrong right from the beginning. I tried to emboss the centres of the flowers but the clear embossing pen turned blue and it looked yuck. Then I put Chrystallina Kindy Glitz on the flowers and it has turned out a bluey colour also. The glitter has also found its way onto the brads that I have added to camouflage the embossed centres. The embossing pen also made the leaves look weird. So here is my "everything went wrong card" with my favourite embossing plate.I have used a Fiskars border punch on the edge of the card.

I decided to do something different with the Gatefold Card.

Sizzix Texture Plates -Delicate Daisies

I made this quick card yesterday at my Church craft morning that is held once a fortnight.

I didn't do any measurement. Just took an A4 sheet of cardstock and began folding it from the bottom piece upwards. It ends up straight because you can line up the edges. I then cut it to the width I wanted. I have cut out individual Daisies and popped them up onto a punched flower. I have only glued the Daisies embossed and inked pieces onto the 2 front pieces. The backs of the 2 are plain white-where you can write a message.
PRODUCTS USED
SALT Cardstock
Delicate daisies Sizzix Texture Plates
Cuttlebug
Kindy Glitz
Purple and yellow Versa Color Ink
Flower punch
Foam Tape

Rock Rose

I love this lemon Rock Rose. It is a pain at times when you have to prune it but the flowers make it all worth while.

I haven't been in a very creative mood of late. Had too much to do and not enough time to create. I have made a few new cards so will share them with you this weekend. Once this term is over at school I will have more time. I hope.

CardsRUs-Donna

Tin of encouragement

This tin was made by Gail from Nowra for my daughter Melanie who lost her baby daughter recently. The girls from Scrap of Faith made tags to go in the tin. The tin sits on a table and when the need arises you take a tag out and read the Bible verse. It is so comforting and helpful during such hard times. How wonderful and thoughtful are these girls. Melanie was wrapped with the tin and the verses.

I am sorry girls but I don't know who did what tag to give you credit.
Gail does incredible craft work and is a very special lady.
I love tags and always have. I am going to make myself a tin like this and put my favourite Bible verses in it.
What a lovely idea for a present for somebody special or who is going through a difficult time. It is during these hard times that we need to know people care and are there for encouragement and support.

Birthday Cakes

Look at how many birthday cakes I received this year. How spoiled was I??? The cake with the sparklers had relighting candles on them. LOL. it was funny. Then the group of friends gave me crazy shaped candles because i am crazy. LOL. 7D gave me 2 mudcakes and Yr 12 gave me a named cake and Mel made a carrot cake. I don't have photos of the muffin stack that yr 11 gave me at school.

Everybody joked about how many candles should be on my cake and also tried to tell me I was a year older.

Elissa Rose's Mini Album

I have started Elissa Rose's mini- album. I have made the album myself and it has 4 lots of sections in it. I will show it again when it is complete.

The section I have been working on is when she was just born and hooked up to many tubes. She was still alive then. I have photos taken with her and I together-my darling little granddaughter. There are also photos with Mel, Gavin, Jess and Chloe.
I have been making these albums with a group of girls who come to a crop I organise once a month. I have been making this particular style for a few years now and always love seeing people make it and get hooked on mini albums like I am. Perhaps I should have one blog dedicated to mini albums.
I love this embossed rose folder from SU. I used my Cuttlebug and some old papers from an Australian manufacturer that I have had for a long time. The rub ons are Making Memories. The cardstock inside is Bazzill. I have used 4 different colours.

Yr 7s gave me an Indian temple with a crystal in it and it is gold plated. yr 12s gave me flowers, a mug, a hand blown glass which said MUM, a Buddha and a lovely silver bracelet.
I was truly spoiled.

Birthday Flowers

Look at the beautiful flowers my precious yr 12s gave me for my birthday. I love the way this photo turned out. The reflection of the roses on the cellophane made the photo so effective. I love red roses.

I have the top view with the reflection and the side view showing the bunch.
