My granddaughters

Look at my little munchkins. Aren't they adorable? Jessica learns ballet, jazz and tap. She loves ballet as the outfits are very girly. Chloe the performer and comedian is always so expressive.

I am so lucky to have such sweethearts.

There's a crocodile on my speaker

How did it get there????? I was working on my computer on Friday night and one little 3 year old comes running down to me to tell me a crocodile is on my speaker. Yeah right how much sugar has this kid had. LOL. I forgot he had a toy crocodile that Buddy bought him in an egg that hatched this green croc after his fall incident on Monday. Cooper had been throwing this croc in the air and yes it landed on my speaker way up high. I am just glad it didn't hit the TV.I did laugh and luckily the camera was close by.

Fiskars Heart border punch
Kaisercraft pearls
Embossing pens

Gatefold card-3

Look what I found? The spiky thing to put flowers in a vase. I saw some ladies on other blogs using this to display their cards. I thought, I have one of those somewhere. it was my Mother's. It is well over 55 years old. I can remember it since i was a little girl. Can somebody tell me what it is called?

Now for the card. This is my new folder that a friend from USA sent me. It is a Stampin' Up Embossing folder called Finial Press. I have used both positive and negative sides of the folder for this card. The ink is Purple Versafine Ink and the chipboard flower is a SALT product.
The sentiment is a foam stamp of source unknown.

Cards from Carol

These 2 cards are from my New Zealand friend Carol J.

The friendship one is for a swap we do at CardsRUs. The other one is obviously for my wedding anniversary. This was so nice and thoughtful. Thank you Carol.
I love receiving hand made cards.

Wedding Anniversary Today

27 years is a long time. The photo of Brian and I at our wedding reception is on the wall in my bedroom so I can look at it of a morning when I wake up. LOL. The wine goblets were a wedding present from my year 12 class of 1982. The photo of me sitting has a photo of me behind as a young girl. The photo of Brian and I was taken at Belmont near the lake.

Brian is in Brisbane until 9pm tonight. Depending on the flight and how quick he gets through. Disappointing for our wedding anniversary. These things happen.

Gatefold Card

Here is a card I did this week using my new texture plates I ran through the Cuttlebug.

This is a card I made for last weeks crop. I have made a few of these with different ideas for inside.

Products Used
SALT pink and white cardstock
Brown Versa Color Ink
Sentiment and ribbon unknown source
Kaisercraft stamp for flourish and I love you.
Method
Cut both card and insert the same size.
I ran tape down the inside 2 edges on the pink and then stuck the white card in a little from the edge. This allows the card to fold and sit nicely inside the pink card.

Look at the lovely award that my good friend Libby has given me. Check out her blog and see all the wonderful creations she comes up with. I value her friendship and appreciate everything she does for me.
The rules for this award are that I must list five things I love to do and then pass it along to five other people.
So firstly, 5 things I love to do:
1. Spend time with my family and friends
2. Relax and have Friday night special dinners with my husband.
3. Make paper craft projects -altered, cards, scrapbooking, mini albums etc

4.Knitting
5. Embroidery and patchwork
Like Libby it is so hard to nominate people for these blogs as there are so many out there that deserve it. Here is my list:
1. Monica who has a special talent for writing. I have been penpals with her for close to 20 years. She is my Swedish friend.
2. Gail who is my kindred spirit
3. Haylee, Gail's wonderful daughter who has so much talent.
4. Rita who is my wonderful and caring blog friend who does incredible cards.
5. Christina who is Rita's beautiful and talented daughter who is also my blog friend.

Butterfly embossed

Here is an embossing plate I made using a chipboard shape and a piece of scrap cardboard.

Sandwich
Plate A
Plate B
Rosie's Embossing Plate,
Cardstock
Silicone mat
Plate B
Then run it through the Cuttlebug. I have made several and have used either side for the positive and negative version as seen in the samples. One day I will use these on a card.

My Week

Last week I was not feeling well and had a sick day and spent the day in bed. However, it helped a little. I went to school on Monday and was called away just after recess by Cooper's pre-school because he had jumped from an object and collected the book shelf on the way down. hence he had a cut on his head that was long, wide and deep.

I took him to the doctors but they said he is best to go to hospital. So I took him to the hospital and had a 2 hour wait. They glued the wound.
I am still not feeling 100% and can feel another head cold coming on. I just got over one. Many of my students have them atm and no wonder I have one.
Year 12 do their exams tomorrow which means I will be marking all weekend and writing reports next week.
Amanda is learning to drive and I took her for an hours drive today. She did well. She is now learning in my father's old car that Melanie gave her recently.
It was Amanda's 22nd birthday on Monday.

Blossoms

Spring is in the air!! Even though it is still winter here in Australia. These beautiful blossoms were out at the school where I do a crop once a month. I picked a bunch and they are in my home but the smell is pungent.

SALT CARDS

I made 2 cards with the same template and almost the same products. Instead of the flowers i have added this self adhesive butterfly from SALT. Notice I have the card turned a different direction with the butterfly card.
I love playing with different shapes and will have to keep an eye out for some more to enlarge etc.
HINT
These shapes are also good for journalling blocks on scrapbooking pages.

Kaisercraft and SALT.

This is a simple way of using the Cuttlebug.

I have only bugged the flowers.
PRODUCTS USED
SALT cardstock
Patterned paper DCWV-Nana's Nursery
Flower and Circle punch
Brown Versa Color Inks
Kaisercraft wooden stamp and pearls.
HINT
The template for this card came from a magnet I received some years ago that I had on my refrigerator. I was standing looking at the refrigerator recently(never did eat what I went there for-LOL) and the magnet caught my eye and I got my creative cells working. I photocopied it and then kept on enlarging it different amounts. I have my own little set of Nesties now in this shape.I have glued the enlarged templates onto cereal boxes and cut out so they are easier to trace.

Thank You

I would like to publically thank Libby for doing an upgrade on my blog. I was having problems trying to find out how to make it a 3 column and she did it for me and spent well over 4 hours saving all my bits and then reinstalling it all. I really appreciate what she she has done.

My Week

I have had a great but busy week this week. The weekend was fantastic. Brian and I had a lovely dinner with Glenda and Bruce and stayed the night. They have a new house and it is lovely.

Called into Melanie's place on the way home so Brian could pick up my father's old car that Mel inherited when he died but she has a new one and so is giving it to Amanda to learn on. Was nice to catch up with my precious family.
I have had an extra busy week at school helping year 12 as they do their trial next 2 weeks.
I don't work Wednesdays or Fridays. So I had coffee with Libby yesterday. We had a lovely time talking and relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
I am minding Cooper tonight and he has been a good little boy. He has his moments. LOL. He is a little boy and into everything. Came home to find my back yard graffitied today. Yes with purple texta. The back door, glass window, air conditioner, concrete, seat, wooden box etc etc. Guess who did it?????COOPER.He showed me all the other places I had missed spotting. He knew where he drew.
